Named for the people who built this community.
Carrie Cates.
She guided ships home.

In the early 1900s, Carrie Cates ran tugboats through Burrard Inlet fog from the Lower Lonsdale waterfront. Before the Lions Gate Bridge, before any paved road across the inlet, her boats were the lifelines that pulled ships to shore. The dockworkers called her Mother Cates. She built something that lasted — not because of the structures, but because of the people inside them.

We named this building after her because we believe the same thing. A home is not a unit in a tower. It is where a community takes shape. Every building Three Shores puts its name on carries the belief that the people who live in it are the ones who make it worth building.

North Vancouver's most
connected neighbourhood.

East 2nd and St. Andrews. A quiet corner that puts the Shipyards, Lonsdale Quay, and the waterfront within an eight-minute walk. The city is across the inlet — close enough to see every morning from your balcony, far enough that you can hear the trees at night.

The neighbourhood has been here long before the towers. It will still be here long after.

Two horizons.
One address.

Most buildings ask you to choose: city or nature. Carrie doesn't. From the first floor up, south-facing homes look across Burrard Inlet to the downtown Vancouver skyline. North-facing homes open onto the North Shore mountains. There is no bad floor. There is no bad direction.

This is not a marketing claim. It is a consequence of where we built — a corner site with no obstruction in either direction. It is the rarest thing you can say about a rental building on the North Shore: every resident gets a view worth coming home to.

High enough to see the inlet.
Close enough to walk to the water.

The rooftop terrace rises above the skyline. On a clear morning you can see the inlet from the railing. The kind of building that earns its square footage.

Amenities · 275 East 2nd Street

Built for the way
people actually live.

Every amenity at Carrie was chosen for one reason: does it make daily life better? Not bigger. Not more impressive on paper. Just better — for the person who works from home on a Tuesday, the family that needs to wash the dog, the resident who wants to host without cleaning their kitchen for two days.

01
Entertainer's Kitchen

A full-service amenity kitchen built for hosting. Restaurant-grade appliances, generous prep space, and a layout that makes feeding a crowd feel easy rather than stressful.

02
Games & Media Lounge

A dedicated TV and games room that gives you somewhere to be social without leaving the building. Because not every evening needs a plan.

03
Outdoor BBQ Terrace

A proper outdoor cooking and dining area — not a single grill on a concrete pad. Built for summer evenings with people you want to be around.

04
Fitness Centre & Yoga Studio

A large, well-equipped gym and a dedicated yoga room — separate spaces for two very different kinds of movement. No waiting for equipment. No crowded mats.

05
Private Conference & Work Room

A private, bookable room for focused work or client meetings — separate from your home when you need the separation. Not a table in a lobby.

06
Children's Play Area

A safe, thoughtfully designed space for children — indoors and protected. Because families belong here too.

07
Pet Wash Station

A dedicated, fully-equipped pet washing bay. Come back from the seawall, clean the dog — without turning your bathroom into a disaster.

08
Secured Bike Storage & Repair Room

Secured, dedicated bike storage with a fully equipped repair room. Lower Lonsdale is one of the best cycling communities in Metro Vancouver — this is built for people who actually ride.

09
Personal Storage & Parcel Lockers

Secured personal lockers and smart parcel storage — because your home should feel like a home, not a storage unit with a kitchen attached.

10
Community Garden

A shared garden space for residents who want their hands in the soil. Grow what you eat. Know your neighbours.

The rooftop terrace rises above the skyline. On a clear morning you can see the inlet from the railing — Vancouver to the south, mountains to the north. High enough to see everything. Close enough to walk to the water in eight minutes.

Three Shores is a North Vancouver developer. We build here, we live here, we manage what we build. Carrie is our third Lower Lonsdale community — our third time building a home for this neighbourhood, not just a product for a portfolio.

When something needs attention, you reach a person. That's not a promise — it's how we've operated since the beginning.
